Interaction backs British amputee football team for 2010 World Cup April 2010 Interaction is supporting the England Amputee Football Association (EAFA) by helping them raise the £20,000 needed to send a British team to Argentina later this year to compete in the 2010 World Amputee Football Federation World Cup. The EAFA creates opportunities for amputees and others with limited use of their limbs - cancer patients, ex-services personnel and accident victims - to play football at local, national and international levels. As part of the campaign, Interaction are helping the Association to stage a “friendly” game between the British and French national teams on June 5th – the week prior to the FIFA World Cup kick off in South Africa. The 2010 Amputee Football Federation World Cup is being played in Crespo, Argentina in October and the British squad is raring to go; their grueling fitness schedule and weekly training has already begun “Competing in Argentina means the world to our squad, it’s what all the training is leading up to and provides a global showcase for the talent of our players”, said team manager Dave Tweed. “Interaction’s support has been invaluable and the donations they have already secured has really set the ball rolling. But we need more - we’re aiming to raise as much as possible to finance special training weekends as well as covering the travel and other expenses of entering the competition.” More information on the EAFA can be found at www.theeafa.co.uk, and individual donations can be made online at www.everyclick.com/amputeefootball or by contacting Interaction info@interactionrpr.co.uk T 01233 732 769 |
