Interaction wins pitch for Novo Nordisk – Buddy Award Launch 2011 February 2011 In conjunction with the Haemophilia Society, Novo Nordisk appointed Interaction to run a campaign to increase policymakers' awareness of haemophilia, by launching the inaugural 'Buddy Awards'. The campaign aims to boost the profile of the Haemophilia Society and attract parliamentary interest to the disease and its treatment, in order to encourage positive change for youngsters with bleeding disorders. The awards recognise the vital support provided by the families, carers, guardians, friends and teachers of these youngsters. The Haemophilia Society is an independent national organisation that works with the NHS to provide information and support for this vulnerable patient group, and as sponsors of the initiative, Novo Nordisk has specialist expertise in this therapy area. With a record of successful advocacy and market awareness campaigns, Interaction is ideally placed to fulfil these requirements by combining its parliamentary and media capabilities. An Interaction team already publishes an influential newsletter ('The Parliamentarian') for the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Diabetes and the charity Diabetes UK, for example - and with strong NHS links including PCT committee representation and GP/pharmacy contract assessment, we have a profound understanding of the healthcare professional's perspective. Speaking about the win Interaction's MD Karen Rowe said " We are looking forward to working with both Novo Nordisk and the Haemophilia Society to help raise awareness for such a great cause. The Interaction team showed real vision and passion about how this initiative will work and help those affected both physically and emotionally. We hope that by introducing our 'Buddy Award' scheme with the involvement of 'Dick and Dom' and MPs, that this initiative will engage our target audience to raise the voice of haemophilia patients by highlighting the challenges and issues that may face them in the future." The Westminster-based launch will take place on Tuesday 3rd May 2011. It will seek to engage members of both Houses and departmental policymakers with the issues involved, and turn the governmental and media spotlight on the challenges facing haemophilia patients. |
